The impatience of anticipatory congoers mounts as the wait for the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo shortens, and eager convention attendees have been on the lookout for the next announcement regarding which entertainment icon may make their way out to the Windy City to spend the weekend with their fans. In past years, C2E2 has been praised for its strong guest roster, leaving the expectation from yearly visitors to heighten as soon as initial reveals are made. With little time between now to the commencement of the annual event, ReedPOP has accepted the challenge of surprising its audience by answering the ongoing question of who the next major guest will be.
Marvel alumn Chris Evans, who notably portrayed Johnny "The Human Torch" Storm in the early 2000s cinematic iteration of Fantastic Four and later took on the role of Steve "Captain America" Roger in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has been confirmed as a headlining guest at C2E2 2023. ReedPop has additionally named Evans as the event's official Guest of Honor. Outside of his Marvel fame, Evans gained popularity from his roles in Knives Out, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, What's Your Number?, Gifted, The Gray Man, and more. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Evans' beginnings of performing at community theaters later blossomed into stardom in the 2010s as his popularity skyrocketed. He will appear at C2E2 all three days and will be hosting a panel on Sunday before the convention closes its doors for the year. Autograph and photo-op tickets will be available and have been set at $250.00 each. Autograph and photo-op tickets share the established same price point.
Evans joins Chinese actress Meng'er Zhang, who is most recognized for her role of Xialing in Marvel Studio's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and Milva in Netflix's The Witcher. She will appear all three days at C2E2 2023. Zhang is scheduled to return as Xialing in the untitled Shang-Chi sequel, which is allegedly rumored to be titled Shang-Chi and the Wreckage of Time. Her appearance in The Witcher, set to introduce her new character, will air in 2023. Zhenger will be available for photo and autograph ops on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
