Zack Snyder Speaks on 'Justice League 2' and 'Justice League 3' Plots

After commenting on the pushback from Warner Brothers to furthering the 'Snyderverse' within the DC Extended Universe, director Zack Snyder admits that he's already created storylines for two more Justice League (2021) films.

Snyder said that the "story's figured out" for Justice League sequels featuring the son of Lois Lane (Amy Adams) and Clark "Superman" Kent (Henry Cavill) after Lane's pregnancy was revealed during Zack Snyder's Justice League. The filmmaker elaborates on his vision for his 'Snyderverse,' ideally formulating it into a five-picture arc from Man of Steel (2013) and concluding in a time difference of 20 years, where Lane and Kent's powerless son would become the new Batman.

When It's Gone Viral asked if he would direct a Justice League 2, the director replied with enthusiasm. "Absolutely," Snyder said, "Lois is definitely pregnant and you would have to then [tell] the story of Lois' child. It would be a big part of the story going forward." Snyder anticipated seeing Apokolips leader Darkseid make his return to Earth to murder Lane in the Batcave, triggering Kent to fall to the Anti-Life Equation.

"If you sort of super-impose what happens in the story over the Dallas dry erase [boards], the ones that were in the AT&T Headquarters ... that was the sort of story," Snyder said, referring to the Dreamscapes of Zack Snyder’s Justice League exhibit displayed at the AT&T Discovery District complex in Dallas, Texas. "But I think the version with Lois, that she's pregnant with Clark's child, is a wrinkle that is slightly different from that version, but we had that figured out."

Snyder may have his plans laid out, but there's skepticism shrouding the possibility of such films meeting the big screen, and the filmmaker accepts that the possibility of live-action interpretations may be slim, looking for support to bring his sequels to life through other media.

"Look, the story's figured out. I know what to do, it's not a question," Snyder said. "But the truth is, the [Snyder Cut] came out, just to give you a sense of it. I haven't heard from them [Warner Bros.], I don't know what they think. I do love these characters and I love the world, clearly, but yeah, I just don't know what their plans are or what they're up to."

Starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, Ciarán Hinds, Ray Porter, Joe Manganiello, Jared Leto, and Gal Gadot, Zack Snyder's Justice League can be found on HBO Max.
