It's every nerd's dream come true, a biopic of 80's, 90's & 00's parody God, Weird Al Yankovic is in the works with Harry Potter star, Daniel Radcliffe, set to star in the lead role.
In a report from Deadline, Daniel Radcliffe (The Lost City, Harry Potter franchise) has been tapped to play musician “Weird Al” Yankovic in Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, a Roku Original biopic from Funny or Die and Tango that will be available for streaming exclusively on The Roku Channel.
The Weird Al biopic will explore every facet of Al's life, from his childhood through his rise to fame with early hits like “Eat It” and “Like a Surgeon,” while touching on his celebrity love affairs and famously depraved lifestyle (is this for real?).
This is all eerily similar to the Funny or Die parody trailer that dropped in 2013 that featured Breaking Bad star, Aaron Paul, in the role of Al.
Production will kick off in Los Angeles early March, 2022.
