'Venom 2' Returning to Theaters January 14

Riding a wave of Spiderman fever in the wake of 'No Way Home', Sony Pictures has decided to re-release Venom: Let There Be Carnage in theaters and streaming on January 14.

The decision to bring Venom 2 back into theaters comes as a result of Sony's decision to move its next tentpole film, Morbius, to April 1st, leaving an unexpected hole in its Spiderverse schedule for early 2022.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage, while not widely beloved by critics (or many fans), did gross the studio over $500mil at the worldwide box office and, with the ongoing excitement for all things Spiderman, the film could stand to make a little more with a re-release.

The announcement was made in a tweet from #Venom: Let There Be Carnage and a brief video clip announcing its Blu-Ray, 4K and Digital Release.

Morbius, the next film in the Sony Spiderverse Universe, was moved to April 1st amidst the growing Omicron COVID pandemic that continues to close theaters (temporarily) across the country and the world.
