Season Two of 'Loki' in Works at Marvel Studios

In the age of streaming taking the stronghold, Disney+ remains at the front of the pack when it boils down to big names taking the reins. Marvel Studios revealed their plan to break into the streaming industry through Disney+, with flashy new titles including WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki.

A previous report from Murphy's Multiverse assured that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier would have a high chance of being awarded two seasons to start out with, and had declared that it was "almost 100% certain" that Loki would receive similar treatment.

News circulating the Loki series means that the entertainment insider's prediction was nothing short of being accurate. In a report from Deadline regarding Loki creator Michael Waldron's involvement with Kevin Feige's Star Wars movie, it was mentioned that Waldron would be involved in the second season of Loki "in some capacity."

It doesn't come as a surprise that any of Marvel's individual series will take up more than one season, as there's the predictable demand for more after the finale of their first seasons. In the case of a character such as Loki, who's known for their ongoing struggle with identity, it would be incomplete to wrap up such a complex topic within a single run.

If Loki becomes a seasonal program on streaming, which Easter Eggs hidden away tease that this is the case, it opens the door for other Disney+ originals to follow in suit and break away from standing as miniseries such as WandaVision. The news of Loki lined up for a second season opens the doors for Marvel to push past their limitations and to further explore the opportunities with their new platform. Loki will premier in May 2021.
