RUMOR: 'Big Hero 6' Joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is no stranger to expanding as its phases allow room for growth, and while fans are still awaiting the X-Men and the Fantastic Four to re-enter after the Fox/Disney deal, there could be another team on its way.

The DisInsider was not concrete as to which specific characters may appear, but rumors have surfaced that some faces from Big Hero 6 (2014) might make their MCU debut. There's a probability that Hiro Hamada and Baymax will be at least two team members chosen from the roster, with no guarantee that any voice actor from the film, based on the comics sharing the same name, would make the leap to live-action.

For those unfamiliar with the movie, the animated feature follows Hamada, a young robotics engineer, joined by Baymax, his departed brother's healthcare robot. Together, they assemble a team to take on the villain that threatens their city of San Fransokyo. Big Hero 6 is the first animated feature that focuses on Marvel characters, followed by a three-season-long television show that aired on Disney XD. Another spinoff, Baymax!, is to stream on Disney+ in 2022, and was announced during Disney Investor Day.

As for when members of Big Hero 6 may appear, ComicBook.com relays the message that it's predicted that they may be seen in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022), Secret Invasion, or even the rumored Agents of Atlas project that has yet to be confirmed. It's to be noted that there's no telling how incorporated the Big Hero 6 may be within the MCU, even though they've been seen interacting with Marvel characters throughout the comics. Disney nor Marvel have commented on the rumor.
