As it claims in its namesake, the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo transforms into an interactive playground for the comic book community. Comic book industry professionals, collectors, and fans are given an opportunity to connect on an intimate face-to-face level where they can embrace the impact of a time-old staple in popular culture. In an effort to upkeep the love of comic books and related media that sit at the heart of C2E2's being, ReedPop is introducing a new feature to the 2022 show: Marvel Comics will accept and review portfolios on-site.
Marvel Comics representatives will be present to overlook incoming portfolios from aspiring comic book talent. Interested applicants are to turn in submissions on Friday, August 5th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or Saturday, August 6th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Room N426A. All submitted portfolios are required to have the applicant's name, mobile phone number, and email address. Marvel will post a portfolio view schedule in Room N426A each morning on Satuday, August 6th, and Sunday, August 7th. Here, those who have opted for Marvel Comics to view their work can schedule a designated day and time for individual reviews.
At the moment, Marvel Comics is only accepting portfolios from artists. All submissions and portfolios will not be returned to the applicant. It is advised that a copy of the original work is to be submitted as the original art will not be given back to artists following the review session. Marvel Comics and ReedPop expect a high volume of portfolios to be delivered on-site, but not all submissions will be reviewed. Marvel Comics requests that all decisions and opinions made by the on-site editor are to be respected by the artist.
CE2E 2022 returns to Chicago's lake shore at the McCormick Place from August 5th - August 7th. Along with the Marvel Comics Portfolio Reviews, the convention gives way to an expansive Artist's Alley, Cosplay Central, Family HQ, and Gaming Zone. Other show floor features flex C2E2's Pop Asia, Tattoo Pavillion, and Chicago-exclusive Revolution Brewing's beer garden, The Yard. ReedPop keeps the convention going even when the Exhibitor Hall wraps its daily hours. C2E2 After Dark continues its tradition of the Cosplay After Party.on Friday and Saturday night. ReedPop will present Late Night Gaming, Karaoke, and Anime Watch Parties, with more information to come from their official website.
