The wildly popular novel, Interview With the Vampire, has been greenlit as a tv series by AMC and fans were treated to an announcement this morning that the character of Lestat has been cast for the upcoming 8-episode series.
Last year, AMC acquired the rights to Anne Rice’s literary works, 18 titles that include the Vampire Chronicles and Mayfair Witches series. The first TV series to come from that deal is Interview with the Vampire which will debut on AMC and AMC+ in 2022.
Cast in the co-lead role of the vampire Lestat is actor Sam Reid (The Astronaut Wives Club, The Newsreader).
No news on casting for other iconic characters (Louis, Armand, Claudia or Malloy), but we should expect to hear more announcements regarding the highly anticipated series soon as pre-production is already underway.
The new series is expected to hit the AMC Network and AMC+ in 2022.
