The overlap between tattoos and fan culture has grown significantly, and die-hard devotees have become eager to represent their favorite fandoms, franchises, and characters permanently. The art of tattooing has allowed fan culture to blend self-expression with dedication and opened another creative space for fan culture to flourish. Comic conventions have integrated tattoo culture into their show programming, and often, have dedicated space on the exhibit hall floors for artists to give tattoos throughout the extent of the event. Fan Expo Chicago has patterned with Ink Fusion Pavillion to give fans a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity at their 2023 show: the chance to win a free tattoo designed by horror icon Sam Raimi himself.
Any contestant age 18 or older can be eligible to win the raffle hosted by Ink Fusion Pavillion at Fan Expo Chicago 2023. Per the contest's rules, entries can be submitted from Friday, August 11 at 10:00 AM CT to Sunday, August 13 at 10:00 AM CT. Raffle tickets for Ink Fusion x Sam Raimi will be sold at the Ink Fusion Pavillion and will be priced at $20.00 USD each. There is no limit to how many tickets an entrant can purchase at a time throughout the duration of the raffle prior to drawing. All participants in the Ink Fusion x Sam Raimi Raffle must purchase a ticket to Fan Expo Chicago 2023 in order to enter the contest. Unfortunately, employees, directors, officers, agents, and other representatives (and those living in the same household of same) of Ink Fusion, KNECT365 US, and Sam Raimi are not eligible to enter or win.
Winners of the Ink Fusion x Sam Raimi Raffle will be drawn at random on Sunday, August 13 at 11:00 A.M. CT. They will be announced publicly by representatives of Fan Expo Chicago, and winners will be contacted through information provided by them on their tickets. Whoever wins the raffle must be present at Fan Expo Chicago during the time of the announcement in order to claim their prize. If an initial winner happens to not be present at Fan Expo Chicago within 30 minutes after their ticket is drawn, Ink Fusion and Raimi have permission to allow a new winner to be called. If the winner is indeed at the convention, they will receive their tattoo right away. Fan Expo reserves the right to use the winner's name and likeness in future marketing campaigns.
The Ink Fusion x Sam Raimi Raffle contest rules declare the prize to be "one (1) tattoo, not exceeding 3x5 inches, based on a one-of-a-kind sketch drawn by Sam Raimi, to be tattooed on the body of the contest winner at Fan Expo Chicago 2023." Additionally, the winner will receive one photo taken with Raimi at the convention. Winners must have valid photo identification and cannot exchange or substitute any part of the prize package. This offer is non-transferable.
Tickets for Fan Expo Chicago 2023 are officially on sale. Fan Expo Chicago will return from August 10 to August 13, 2023, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill.
