Hawkeye: First Official Photo and Release Date Announced

After a tidal wave of success from WandaVision, Falcon and The Winter Soldier and Loki, one would think Disney+ would slow down and focus on its big screen releases for the remainder of 2021. Luckily, to the great joy of MCU fans everywhere, such is not the case.

Entertainment Weekly shared the first official photo for the long awaited new series from Marvel Studios (seen below) along with the show's scheduled release date.

The photo shows Clint Barton and Kate Bishop seemingly training in a basement or garage. The tones of purple and blue are very "on-brand" for the Hawkeye character(s).

This photo is the first official look at the new series although there have been several set photos leaked online over the past few months,

If this wasn't enough to move your nerd needle, Disney/Marvel has also given us an official release date for the series. Hawkeye will land on Disney+ on November 24.

If you're unfamiliar with this new bow-wielding bad-ass, Kate Bishop (played by Hailee Steinfeld), here's a quote from Jeremy Renner:

"[Kate is] a 22-year-old kid and she's a big Hawkeye fan. She has a wonderfully annoying and equally charming manner about her, because she's such a fangirl of Hawkeye. The relationship grows from that, but the biggest problem for Clint is Kate Bishop and the onslaught of problems that she brings into his life."

Hailee Steinfeld will star as Kate Bishop in Hawkeye and she is heavily rumored to be Clint Barton's successor to the mantle. Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, and Alaqua Cox are all slated to star in the series alongside Renner and Steinfeld. Additionally, Black Widow's Florence Pugh will reprise her role as Yelena Belova in Hawkeyeand that film's post-credits scene set her down a deadly path as she will be looking to confront Clint about Natasha Romanoff's death.
