This weekend brings fans the return to the Scream franchise with the fifth film in the series and extremely positive reviews and first reactions are pouring in from critics.
Scream (2022) comes from Ready or Not directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett and is being billed as a relaunch of the franchise. The film features the return of series stars David Arquette, Courtney Cox and Nev Campbell and takes place 25 years after the events of the first film as Woodsboro is once again rocked by a series of murders committed by someone donning the Ghostface mask with the goal of drawing up secrets from the town's deadly past.
Well, what are film critics saying about the new film? They're widely over the moon about it, calling Scream, "razor sharp", "the real deal" and "the best since the original".
