ACen 2023: Soap Bubble Lineup Revealed

Anime Central has earned its reputation as the Midwest's most popular (and largest) anime convention due to the extent of fan-first programming. Even after the show floor closes for the attendees, the ACen team works hard to ensure that the convention provides copious amounts of nightlife for conventiongoers to enjoy. Proudly referred to as the oldest, most highly anticipated, and longest-running anime party in the United States, Anime Central has announced the DJ lineup for their Soap Bubble EDM Dance. Self-titled as "the greatest anime party in the country," the Soap Bubble dance brings together top DJs to perform live in front of thousands of fans from night into the early morning.

Anime Central 2023's Soap Bubble themes are "Party Hero Agency" and "League of Party Villains," taking heavy cues from anime and manga sensation My Hero Academia in its official promotional art. Here's the lineup of who's set to spin tracks at the 2023 Soap Bubble event.

DJ GreenFlöw identifies as a nomadic musician who found his start in the music industry at conventions over half a decade ago. Since, he's been able to broaden the scope of where he performs, making appearances in Mexico City, Mexico, and Seoul, South Korea. DJ GreenFlöw is planning on making his return to Anime Central and has been featured at similar events such as Anime Milwaukee and Kumoricon. When he is in the United States, he is commonly found in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he performs with the local musical group Non-Pop! DJ Rozz, much like DJ GreenFlöw, has a background in convention appearances. Additionally, he has performed at different clubs and music festivals. DJ Khek is a long-standing Soap Bubble veteran after first performing at Anime Central in 2004. DJ Khek has been recognized as a member of the Mix Squad on Milwaukee's Hip-Hip radio station V100, but keeps himself open to working with all genres of music.

DJ Allen C is the creator of Anime Central's Soap Bubble, and has been a DJ for over 30 years. His work incorporates a number of genres such as House, Grime, U.K. Garage, J-Pop, K-Pop, and Bass music. Most recently, DJ Allen C performed at the Kaos Nightclub during the LVLUP EXPO in Las Vegas, Nevada. DJ–Jami, or Revolution Boi, has been avidly creating electric dance music for over a decade. Jami career as a traveling DJ has allowed him to understand the nuances of a variety of genres while being able to connect with his audiences on a country-by-country basis. He later became the first Vocaloid DJ in the United States and has become a popular performer in the anime events industry on a nationwide scale.

The Soap Bubble EDM Dance is only one of ACen's dance-adjacent after-hour programs. Anime Central's Soap Bubble will take place on Friday, May 19th, 2023, in the Hyatt Regency O’Hare’s Grand Ballroom. ACen returns on May 19th to May 21, 2023 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois. Attendee Registration for Anime Central can be found here. Any attendee who identifies as a convention runner, industry professional, anime organization runner, et cetera are encouraged to fill out the Professional Registration Form to receive a discount on their convention admission.
